About the Event
Traditional New Year's resolutions rarely result in meaningful long-term change, and can often have a detrimental effect on mental health when not kept. Instead, in this workshop participants will be introduced to a broader, more freeing approach by choosing a personal "Word of the Year" as a guiding principle.
In a safe and nuturing atmosphere, participants will be guided through an exercise of self-reflection in order to determine a word which resonants deeply with personal values and stage of life. Participants will find the material generated in the previously offered "Touchstones of Self-Care" workshop useful in this class, but this is not an absolute prerequisite.
All supplies will be provided.
Here are a few important things to note about this workshop:
-If you are a Museum Member and wish to receive the member discount on this class, you MUST register on the museum website, https://www.artlafayette.org/classes. I cannot refund the member discount if you register on my site.
-Free parking is available in the lot to the northeast of the building.
-All materials will be provided. However, you may wish to bring your favorite pen and perhaps a personal notebook.
-A full listing of workshops can be found on my website, https://www.abednegocreations.com/ or by following my FB page, https://www.facebook.com/AbednegoCreations
Creative Intermission Workshops are designed as an intentional "pause" for participants who typically spend much time and energy caring for others--sometimes forgetting the element of self-nurture. These workshops will be a safe place to relax, reflect, and breathe--the emphasis is on having fun and feeding the spirit rather than making a polished finished product.
